Egor Panchenko

Egor L. Panchenko is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History and Theory of Culture, Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow. He is conducting research on online-news sites and social media as a form of digital public sphere and their role in Russian politics. His graduate work was devoted to the integration of online-news sites and social networks in Runet. In 2010, he took part in the project Impact of the Internet on Russian Politics, Media, and Society, conducted by Berkman Centre for Internet and Society at Harvard University, studying public discourse in the Russian blogosphere.
