Galina Nikiporets-Takigawa

Galina Nikiporets-Takigawa − MAW Special consultant in linguistics and quantitative analysis at the University of Cambridge. She graduated from Moscow State University and has an MA and PhD in Linguistics and Russian Studies. Before moving to the UK, Galina worked at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, where she held the position of Associate Professor from 2001 to 2009. Her research covers a wide range of issues, all concerning the interplay of media and society, as well as the creation of relevant methodology for understanding and measuring this relationship. Her belief in, and work on, quantitative approaches and mass digital data based on media led to the volume ‘Integrum: Quantitative Methods and the Humanities’ and features in all her publications.
