Mikhail Zygar’ is editor-in-chief of the Russian Optimistic Television Channel Dozhd (since October 2010). In 2009-2010, he was deputy editor-in-chief of Russian Newsweek where he was also in charge of the ’politics’ section. In 1999-2009, he worked in the Kommersant Publishing House. He is a columnist for openspace.ru, bg.ru, and snob.ru. He is a graduate of the Department of International Journalism at the Moscow State Institutue for International Relations (Ministery of Foreighn Affairs of the Russian Federation) and Cairo University. He is the author ofWar and Myth (2007) and Gazprom: New Russian Weapons (together with Valerii Paniushkin, 2008).
