Style guide
Entries submitted to Digital Icons must follow the journal submission style guide that can be downloaded here.

Frequency
The journal is published twice per annum; submissions are accepted continuously. However for publication of materials in the autumn issue of Digital Icons the deadline for submissions is 1 September, for the spring issue the deadline is 1 February. In addition to regular issues, Digital Icons publishes special thematic issues prepared by guest-editors; for more information on forthcoming special issues please click here.

Review process
Each submission is subjected to a blind (anonymous) peer-review process; as a standard practice two reviews are secured for each submission. For this Digital Icons taps into its network of scholars and experts who help examine submissions and evaluate whether they merit publication. Subsequently, authors are informed of whether their contribution is accepted without revision or with minor revisions, or if extensive revisions and resubmission are advised. Once the authors resubmit with the revisions made, please note that the submission will also be assessed by Digital Icons editors who may make further recommendations.

Final submission
Once the submission has been found fit for publication, authors are requested to do a final examination of their work (in pdf format) for minor errors and typos. Please note that at this stage we permit no major alterations in the submission.

Copyright
Digital Icons editors will get in touch with the authors to request that the appropriate copyright permission form be filled and sent in prior to final publication. As a standard practice, the authors are requested to obtain permissions for all materials used in their publication that do not fall into the category ‘fair use’ (to find out more about what constitutes ‘fair use’, click here.) Please note that the copyright policy of Digital Icons is regulated in accordance with the UK legislation. To find out more about Digital Icons copyright policy please write to the editor editor@digitalicons.org.
