Elisa Coati is a PhD candidate in the department of Russian and East European Studies at the University of Manchester, where she also obtained her MA in 2007. Her PhD project focuses on the relationship between contemporary Russian literary culture and the internet, providing analyses of a series of websites dedicated to writers Boris Akunin and Viktor Pelevin. Her research interests include Russian contemporary literature (particularly crime fiction), book history and new media studies.
