Since 2011, the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) leaders have been officially promoting an active online interaction between the Church and its believers. They publish official draft texts online and encourage interactive discussion about them. The application of computer-mediated communication allows the ROC officials to experience a new dimension of connectivity with the flock, as well as arrange an efficient top-down and bottom-up mode of sharing, turning the offline conciliarity into what functions as a digital manifestation of the unity of all in the Body of Christ: as a kind of sobornost’ 2.0.
